Where did I go to school?
I current hold two degrees from The Ohio State University.
- Bachelor of Arts in History
- Master of Education with a focus on integrated social studies.
I loved my time at OSU so much that when I was ready to take the leap and leave the classroom, I found myself a student there once more. This time I am pursing an MLT degree – Master of Learning Technologies.
I am optimistically anticipating finishing this degree in the Spring of 2026.
What was my teaching career like?
I spent my first year teaching in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District. This was 2020-2021 and I was learning everything that comes with being a first-year teacher PLUS everything that came with remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The remaining 4 years of my teaching career were spent in the Shawnee Mission School District. It was here that I was given the opportunities to:
- Write curriculum for the district
- Collaborate with cross-curricular teams
- Write and score state assessments for my content area
- Be a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging practitioner within my building

Various assignments, projects, and even me helping out some firefighters at Career Day can be seen.
